In general the Wi-Fi
signal does not reach all the house. It is a common problem in many houses. The
complication turns high in big houses or to a strange layout. The load-bearing
walls, long corridors or multistorey apartment acts as a trap for the Internet
signal.
Devolo has found a
solution for transmitting the internet signals easily overcoming the obstacles.
The thing is that to transmit the connection through the mains of the house
(PLC). This new model, the dLAN 500 AV Wireless +, is peculiar to function
properly when the connection is high speed.
The dLAN 500 AV
Wireless + can be distributed around the house having connections up to 500
Mbps, a rate that is well above the average we usually found at home.
Another advantage of
this device is its versatility. We can access the network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet
cable through the device. Operation is simple: connect the router and the
operator to this device, plugged into an electrical outlet, and another device
is placed at a point distant from the house. Now, this second receptor, which
is quite far from the router, receives Internet signals through the power line,
and make a second Wi-Fi or cable connection to other devices.
Unlike other
equipment of the brand, the dLAN 500 AV Wireless + retains the electrical
outlet, not to condemn any household outlet. Thus, although it is working and
transmitting Internet signal, it can still be used as a normal plug, which can
connect any electrical appliance.
The problem of a Wi-Fi
signal at house too low especially affects mobile devices. Computers usually
have a good antenna that allows easier access to wireless connections, but mobile
phones and tablets have more difficulty connecting when the signal is not as
intense.
In addition, the
dLAN 500 AV Wireless + provides some protection against another problem that is
becoming common: frequency saturation. And in large blocks of homes, many
residents suffer from this problem: Many electronic devices, and other
neighbors, using a limited range of frequencies that tend to saturate, and
hence slowing down the connection. When transmitting a large part of the data
through power line helps to avoid this problem partly.
The dLAN 500 AV Wireless +
has an option to regulate access to the guest network. It is managed through an
application available for iOS and Android, and can choose which level of
"confidence" can be given for each. For example, we may make a guest
password that will allow access to our network, but in a limited time.
The device can be
found in stores starting next November. It includes starter kit to configure a
home network and adapter Wireless + dLAN 500 AVplus.
